We are passionate about meat. Like most South Africans, we love the great outdoors, a decent braai and good quality meat. We started producing our own biltong, boerewors and droëwors out of necessity – the quality available from most shops just wasn’t up to our standard. So we invested in equipment and made our own. The premium quality products were so impressive amongst friends and colleagues that we started producing to sell. Now we have expanded our product range to include value-added chicken products too.

Our Story

It is said that necessity is the mother of invention. This was certainly the case for us. A bunch of South African expats in the United Kingdom became increasingly dissatisfied with the quality of traditional meat products available from the majority of South African shops. So we started making our own. We went back to our roots, dug up old family recipes and procured premium primal cuts of meat to produce our products.

Initially we only produced for our own consumption. But friends, family and colleagues who tasted our products were so impressed that they were prepared to buy our products. So we ended up providing premium quality meats to discerning customers – from renowned chefs to business people running their own food manufacturing companies.

Our Vision

We believe in the principle of small, local businesses supplying the surrounding community. This ensures that the customer remains a focal point and not just a number. It is also a fact of life that small and medium sized businesses contribute the most to the economy. We intend to be recognised as a specialist meats supplier of note in the local community.

Our Sources

We obtain fresh, chilled primal cuts directly from abattoirs and wholesalers. In most cases we can trace the source back to the farms producing beef and poultry. We also maintain our own quality controls, so any supplies not meeting our standard are not accepted in our processing department. Quality to the consumer starts with quality from the farm.

Our Process

We only process freshly chilled product. It has never been frozen. Our suppliers deliver on a daily basis, so all our production consists of small, quality controlled batches. We also prefer to vacuum seal our products to ensure you receive them as fresh as we produced them.
